PM Modi To Inaugurate Arvind’s Rs 100-Crore Varanasi Unit On October 25

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate Arvind’s new apparel manufacturing unit at Mirzamurad in Varanasi on October 25. The Rs 100-crore project will produce sportswear and innerwear and is expected to generate employment for more than 1,000 people.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inspected the facility on Wednesday and reviewed preparations for the inauguration. He also interacted with around 300 women employees currently undergoing training at the unit.

Spread across more than seven acres along the highway in Khochwan village, near the Rupapur intersection, the facility will expand Arvind’s manufacturing presence in Uttar Pradesh and create employment opportunities in the Purvanchal region. A second phase of investment is planned to support further expansion.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the project was held on April 25, 2024. The unit forms part of the Ahmedabad-headquartered textile and apparel company’s manufacturing network.

During the inspection, the Chief Minister was accompanied by state finance and parliamentary affairs minister Suresh Khanna, police commissioner Mohit Agarwal, district magistrate Satyendra Kumar and company officials. Administrative and security preparations are underway for the Prime Minister’s visit.
