Global Textile Signs Cotton Cooperation MoU With US Partner

Uzbekistan’s Global Textile has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Make American Cotton Great Again (MACGA) to explore cooperation in the cotton and textile industry, following US–Uzbekistan business meetings in Samarkand.

The meetings, held during US Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s official visit, brought together business leaders to discuss opportunities across sectors, including agriculture and textile manufacturing.

Global Textile CEO Dr. Muzaffar Razakov participated in the Agriculture & Textiles strategic industry session, engaging with American companies on industrial cooperation, agricultural digitalisation, smart irrigation technologies and textile manufacturing partnerships.

“Over the past year, we have seen considerable activity. Through his determination and efforts, our president has opened doors for cooperation between countries,” Razakov said in an interview.

Ahead of the Samarkand meetings, MACGA representatives visited Global Textile’s manufacturing facilities in Fergana. The delegation reviewed the company’s vertically integrated operations spanning cotton processing, spinning, knitting, dyeing and garment manufacturing.

According to Global Textile, the visit gave the American delegation an overview of its production scale, technical capabilities and manufacturing organisation.

The MoU provides a framework for exploring potential projects that combine Global Textile’s manufacturing experience with the expertise of American partners across agriculture and textiles.
