Grasim Industries Wins CSR Health Impact Award for Water Accessibility Initiatives
Grasim Industries has won the 7th CSR Health Impact Award IHW, recognizing the company’s remarkable efforts in creating a positive impact on society. Grasim SFD in Nagda, Madhya Pradesh, has taken significant strides to ensure water accessibility and uplift livelihoods through a series of impactful initiatives.
Grasim SFD’s initiatives have had a profound effect on water management and livelihood improvement in the region. The company has been actively involved in managing village-level dams, constructing four major dams on the Chambal river, establishing water reservoirs and ponds and renovating check dams. These efforts have resulted in enhanced water availability and a substantial improvement in the quality of life for local communities.
To provide safe drinking water, Grasim has installed reverse osmosis (RO) plants in the region. Additionally, the company has actively promoted rainwater harvesting techniques and successfully covered 22 villages under the Nal Jal Yojana, ensuring clean water access for all.
Recognizing the importance of livestock in rural communities, Grasim’s integrated livestock project has supported cattle rearing in 35 villages. This project, along with animal health camps and water tanks, has significantly improved the well-being of livestock, leading to enhanced livelihoods for the communities involved.
In addition to water and livestock initiatives, Grasim SFD has focused on skill development and training to ensure sustainability of its projects.
The Silver award at the 7th CSR Health Impact Awards IHW was presented to Mr. Satish Bhuvir, Head of CSR at Grasim, by Ms Kiran Bedi. This recognition is a testament to the exceptional dedication and commitment displayed by the entire team at Grasim – SFD, Nagda.
