ITMA ASIA + CITME: A Success For VDMA Member Companies
Over 40 VDMA member companies showcased their innovative products at ITMA ASIA CITME in Shanghai. Dr. Janpeter Horn, Chairman of the VDMA Textile Machinery Association, expressed satisfaction with the event, noting that it exceeded expectations in terms of both visitor numbers and the quality of discussions, despite a challenging market situation.
Many exhibitors focused on sustainable textile production solutions, presenting technologies for water, energy and raw material conservation under the theme “Smart Technologies for Green Textile Production.” Dr. Uwe Rondé, CEO of Saurer Intelligent Technology AG, highlighted positive engagement with customers interested in recycling, automation and digitalization.
Trützschler Group SE considered the event a great success, attracting a large number of Chinese and international visitors. Dr. Bettina Temath, Head of Global Marketing, Trützschler Group, emphasized the positive response to their booth.
The VDMA Textile Machinery Association and VDMA China provided support to members, including assistance with Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). During the exhibition, a member company, Sahm, filed a complaint application for patent infringement, leading to an agreement with a Chinese company that had used patented designs without permission.
Dr. Harald Weber, Managing Director of VDMA Textile Machinery, highlighted the significance of Asia, particularly China, as primary foreign markets for VDMA member companies. He noted that ITMA ASIA CITME serves as a crucial platform to showcase technologies in the region.
