ITAMMA Webinar On Development Of Capital Goods Sector
ITAMMA organised its fifth webinar for the development of capital goods sector of textile industry with the funding support of Ministry of Heavy Industry on January 29, 2024
Anil Yadav, Technical, Marketing & Development at Moksha Thermoplastics provided insights into the company, established in 1954 and is into rolling bobbins, yarn dyeing products, simplex bobbins, roving bobbins, etc.
Anil Yadav elaborated on the evolution of spinning frame, roving and flyer bobbins, distinguishing between ancient, conventional, and engineered variations.
While ancient bobbins were traditionally crafted from wood, paper, or polypropylene, conventional ones were made from ABS, and engineered bobbins utilised impact- modified ABS with additional modifications.
He provided a comprehensive overview of the transformative journey of manufacturing various accessories, illustrating the continuous improvements and enhancements achieved over the years.
Manan Shah, MD at Embee Corporation discussed the advancement of sustainable machines tailored for both customer satisfaction and environmental preservation.
Specifically, he highlighted the manufacturing of the stripping machine, with the latest addition being the utilisation of laser technology, which not only preserves colours but also minimises environmental hazards.
In contrast to earlier method involving toxic chemicals, which posed risks to workers and environment, Embee has introduced a laser source that burns out photo emulsion, emitting no smoke or odour and does not leave behind ash residue.
According to Manan Shah, this technology significantly extended the screen life while reducing costs, labour, and efforts.
Mehul Goswami, Director at Sambuq.com elaborated on the significance of digitalisation and the Digital India initiative which is revolutionising the nation’s technological landscape.
He discussed the Smart Data Clinic, a comprehensive information-sharing and market research platform that adds value to ITAMMA members and its ecosystem.
This platform serves as a centralised hub with features like a knowledge portal and virtual learning hub, facilitating business networking opportunities, and providing a digital marketplace for affiliates and members.
Goswami highlighted the platform’s collaboration with the government on schemes and grants, emphasising its role in fostering a collaborative and supportive ecosystem for technological advancement and growth.
ND Mhatre, Director General (Tech) at ITAMMA provided insights into the MHI schemes designed for the capital goods sector, highlighting that imports of spare parts and accessories currently stand at 83 perceny underscoring their cutting-edge technology.
He emphasised the availability of these schemes for industrialists aiming to elevate their manufacturing processes to state- of-the-art standards.
Specifically, he addressed key subsectors such as heavy electrical equipment, textile machinery, plastic machinery, machine tools industry among others, for which schemes exist to enhance the capital goods sector.
Notably, he elaborated on the backward and forward integration schemes within the machine tools secto, which are categorised into five sectors including R&D, green engineering, IT application and development centers.
Mhatre stressed the importance of utilising various funds allocated such as the Technology Acquisition Fund (TAF) and Technology Updation Funds (TUF), all of which are accessible on the ITAMMA website.
Furthermore, he underscored ITAMMA’s commitment to promoting public-private partnerships, exemplified by initiatives like Vocal for Local and Atma Nirbhar Bharat.
Additionally, he highlighted the presence of Advanced Centers of Excellence and the availability of funds for joint ventures, providing crucial support to the textile industry and fostering innovation and collaboration within the sector.
