A. Sakthivel Joins India Business Delegation For Uk-India Week 2026
A. Sakthivel, Chairman of the Apparel Export Promotion Council, was part of the Indian business delegation accompanying Piyush Goyal during his visit to London for UK-India Week 2026.
The visit comes ahead of the implementation of the India–UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement and the Double Contribution Convention on July 15, 2026, marking a significant milestone in strengthening economic ties between the two countries.
During the visit, Dr. Sakthivel thanked Narendra Modi for his leadership and congratulated Shri Goyal on receiving the Exceptional Leadership in Elevating UK-India Ties award. He also met Peter Kyle, Secretary of State for Business and Trade, United Kingdom, to discuss expanding India–UK trade, innovation and investment, while highlighting the opportunities the India–UK CETA presents for India’s apparel export sector.
