AATCC Workshops Focus On Color Management And Textile Testing For 2024

Every year, AATCC hosts workshops at the AATCC Technical Center, offering hands-on learning on specific testing topics. These workshops feature small class sizes to ensure in-depth exploration of the content.

This year, AATCC will host a Color Management Workshop from August 14-15 and introduce a new Textile Testing Workshop for Specifiers on September 17-18 at the Technical Center. Both workshops are tailored to provide comprehensive understanding of their respective topics, featuring expert speakers, practical testing examples, and supplementary materials.

The Color Management Workshop targets merchandisers, retailers, manufacturers, product developers, color approval managers, and designers. Participants will delve into fundamental color principles, the impact of lighting on color, considerations in developing color palettes affecting cost, fashion, durability, and dyeing reproducibility. Additionally, they will learn to implement digital color programs with suppliers and ensure shade control from concept to production.

Attendance is limited, so early registration is recommended. Registration includes luncheons, breaks, access to the AATCC Color Guidebook, and Textile Coloration for the Retail Supply Chain, along with presentations.

The Textile Testing Workshop for Specifiers is designed for designers, product managers, marketers, and entrepreneurs involved in defining product fit, function, look, and performance. This workshop equips participants with essential knowledge on critical tests for various product categories, performance claims, and legal requirements.

Attendees will gain insights into interpreting textile testing results, understanding standardized testing significance, considerations for functional and performance properties, and principles of color measurement.

Participants will benefit from direct access to AATCC experts specializing in standards development, textile testing, quality control, and claim substantiation. The workshop provides practical tools and knowledge applicable immediately in professional roles. Registration includes luncheons, breaks, and digital resources including Analytical Methods for a Textile Laboratory and Selecting a Textile Testing Lab.

Textile testing plays a vital role in ensuring product quality, safety, and compliance with regulations. It supports innovation, guides manufacturing improvements, and validates product claims. AATCC, serving the industry since 1921, continues to provide essential education and resources in textile testing, empowering industry professionals to advance quality, innovation, and consumer safety.
