Asahi Kasei Advance To Debut High-Performance Nonwovens And Fibers At Techtextil

Asahi Kasei Advance will mark its first-ever participation at Techtextil, presenting a comprehensive portfolio of high-performance nonwovens, flame-retardant fabrics, and advanced fiber solutions for diverse industrial applications. The leading international trade fair for technical textiles and nonwovens will take place from April 21–24, 2026 in Frankfurt am Main. The company will exhibit 14 brands in Hall 12.1, Booth C35, with a special focus on four flagship materials.
A key highlight is LASTAN, a non-mineral flame-retardant fabric produced by air baking a special acrylic fiber at 200–300°C. With a limited oxygen index (LOI) of 47.5–50, the material delivers high flame resistance and strong electrical insulation properties. A proprietary coating process enables it to disperse sparks generated during welding or cutting operations, effectively suppressing ignition and enhancing protection against flames and venting gases. LASTAN™ has long been used as a safety-focused material across multiple industries.
In the area of comfort and recyclability, Cubit offers a durable 3D warp-knitted spacer fabric engineered for breathability, support and ease of care. Featuring front and back surfaces made of PET, it is available with connecting threads in PTT, PET or nylon. The all-PET monomaterial variant provides an easily recyclable alternative to polyurethane foam, targeting applications in healthcare, furniture and automotive interiors.
For hygiene and cleaning applications, Bemliese stands out as a cellulose continuous filament nonwoven made from cotton linter. The material becomes exceptionally soft when moistened and drapes smoothly over surfaces with minimal abrasion. Its high moisture absorption and retention capacity make it suitable for cosmetic and hygienic uses, including face and eye masks. In dry form, it generates virtually no lint, scratches or chemical residues, making it ideal for sensitive industrial, laboratory and medical cleaning applications. The material’s biodegradability in soil, water and marine environments, as well as its suitability for industrial and home composting, has been certified by TÜV AUSTRIA Belgium NV.
Completing the spotlighted innovations is ELTAS, a binder-free spunbond nonwoven available in polyamide, polyester and polypropylene variants. Offered in ultra-thin, low-weight grades, ELTAS™ combines filament uniformity, air permeability and edge fray resistance. Its versatility supports applications across hygiene products, household goods, automotive components, filtration, agriculture, housing materials, tea bags and cable wrapping.
Alongside these four materials, ten additional advanced solutions will be showcased at Booth C35, underscoring Asahi Kasei Advance’s expanding presence in the global technical textiles and nonwovens sector.
