Attaquer Introduces New Performance Fabrics For Ultra Cycling Apparel

Cycling apparel brand Attaquer has introduced its latest Ultra performance range featuring two proprietary material systems developed to improve breathability, moisture management, aerodynamic performance and weight reduction.
The new range is divided into two platforms, Ultra Climbers, designed for lightweight performance in demanding and high-temperature conditions, and Ultra Aero, developed to improve aerodynamics and efficiency during high-speed cycling.
At the centre of the collection are two new fabric systems, Veil and Vector. The materials have been engineered specifically for cycling apparel and combine specialised textile structures with performance-focused construction techniques.
Veil, used in the Ultra Climbers range, is an ultra-light Italian warp-knitted mesh designed to provide high breathability and rapid moisture evaporation. The almost translucent material incorporates a repeating open-cell structure that increases airflow through the fabric while improving the movement of moisture away from the skin.
According to Attaquer, the engineered cell-repeat geometry increases the surface-area-to-volume ratio of the mesh, creating more points of contact between the fabric and airflow. This is intended to accelerate evaporative cooling and reduce drying time during intensive physical activity.
The Veil material is manufactured in Italy and features a lightweight construction, four-way stretch and moisture-management properties. It is used across the Ultra Climbers Jersey, Long Sleeve Jersey, Pullover Jersey and Bib Short.
The Ultra Climbers Jersey weighs 93 grams in a men’s medium, while the long-sleeve version weighs 107.9 grams. The Pullover Jersey, which eliminates the conventional front zipper, weighs 83 grams in a men’s medium.
For the Ultra Climbers Bib Short, Attaquer uses an Italian-made bifacial, multi-surfaced fabric designed to provide muscle support while maintaining freedom of movement.
The second material system, Vector, has been developed for the Ultra Aero platform. The material is a dual-sided woven textile designed to combine aerodynamic performance on the outer surface with moisture management on the inside.
The outer surface incorporates a structured aerodynamic rib designed to influence airflow around the garment. The inner surface features moisture-wicking channels intended to move moisture away from the skin and improve comfort during sustained exertion.
Attaquer describes Vector as an Italian-woven material developed specifically for high-speed cycling, with the two-sided construction allowing the fabric to perform different functions depending on its contact surface.
The development of Veil and Vector reflects the growing use of engineered textile structures in performance sportswear, where fabric construction is increasingly being tailored to specific requirements such as thermal regulation, moisture management, aerodynamics, weight reduction and wearer comfort.
By developing separate textile systems for climbing and high-speed cycling applications, Attaquer is focusing on application-specific fabric engineering rather than relying on a single material platform across its performance apparel range.
