Barmag Launches Chinese Digital Academy For BCF Yarn Producers

Barmag has introduced a Chinese-language version of its Digital Academy for the bulked continuous filament (BCF) yarn process, expanding access to online training for customers in China. The launch comes three years after the platform was introduced in English, Spanish, French and Turkish.
The academy has 450 active users, most of whom are based in the US. Chinese BCF yarn manufacturer Taicang Universal Fibers Co. Ltd. is already using the platform to train employees at the machine, helping them improve equipment operation and efficiency.
“With the Digital Academy, we can provide our employees with optimal support and further increase the efficiency of our equipment,” said Tom Yu, Facility Manager at Taicang Universal Fibers.
Available through the myBarmag.com e-commerce platform, the academy offers modules covering the operation, maintenance and repair of Neumag BCF S+ and S8 systems. The courses cater to operators, process engineers, technicians and quality managers.
Compact, role-based learning units can be accessed on mobile devices and desktop computers, allowing employees to apply their learning quickly while limiting disruption to production. The modules draw on Barmag’s expertise as an original equipment manufacturer to provide standardised procedures and detailed guidance on machine operation and maintenance.
Progress assessments help reinforce learning, while examinations and certificates document participants’ achievements. Feedback features allow users to seek clarification, with access provided on a location- or company-specific basis.
Barmag is also extending the academy to other production processes. Training for the partially oriented yarn (POY) process is nearing rollout, while online courses for staple fibre production are being prepared.
