BASF Appoints Wojciech Kulma As MD For South Africa

BASF in South Africa has appointed Wojciech Kulma as its new Managing Director, effective October 1, 2025. The leadership change is aligned with BASF’s Winning Ways strategy, which emphasizes value creation, customer proximity and performance-driven transformation across Southern Africa.

Kulma brings more than 25 years of international experience within BASF, having held senior positions in sales, business management, and finance across Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa. He has played a key role in regional expansion, post-merger integrations and strategic investment projects.

A graduate of the Warsaw School of Economics with a master’s degree in marketing and finance, Kulma has also completed executive training in strategic management, negotiations and controlling. His leadership style is described as collaborative, with a strong global perspective.

BASF in South Africa has set its ambition to become the leading chemical partner in Southern Africa, delivering innovative and sustainable solutions tailored to local market needs. This vision complements BASF’s global goal of enabling customers’ green transformation while strengthening its relevance in the South African market.
