BASF Becomes Sole Owner Of Alsachimie Joint Venture

BASF has acquired DOMO Chemicals’ 49% stake in the Alsachimie joint venture, becoming the sole owner of the PA 6.6 precursor production facility in Chalampé, France. Financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed.

With full control of Alsachimie, BASF strengthens its European polyamide 6.6 operations and secures backward integration into key raw materials such as KA-oil, adipic acid, and AH salt. The move is part of BASF’s broader strategy to enhance supply reliability and efficiency across the PA 6.6 value chain.

For DOMO Chemicals, the divestment supports its focus on providing tailored polyamide solutions to core industries, including automotive and electronics.

The transaction follows BASF’s recent investments at Chalampé, including a new HMD plant and expanded PA 6.6 polymerization capacity in Freiburg, Germany.
