Bharat Tex 2026 Day 2 Focuses On States And Global Trade

The second day of Bharat Tex 2026 placed the spotlight on state-led growth, investment opportunities and India’s expanding textile trade partnerships with global markets. The programme brought together State Governments, policymakers, industry leaders and trade experts to discuss strategies for strengthening manufacturing, attracting investment and enhancing the global competitiveness of India’s textile and apparel sector.
Being held from July 14-17, 2026, Bharat Tex 2026 continues to serve as a premier platform showcasing India’s textile heritage, manufacturing capabilities, innovation and global trade potential.
A major highlight of the day was the Uttar Pradesh State Session, organised by the Government of Uttar Pradesh, which showcased the state’s growing textile ecosystem and opportunities across manufacturing, apparel, handlooms, handicrafts and other segments of the value chain. The session was attended by Rakesh Sachan, Minister for Handloom and Textiles, Government of Uttar Pradesh and Ravindra Jaiswal, Minister of Stamp and Court Fee and Registration, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
The Karnataka State Session, organised by the Government of Karnataka, highlighted the state’s strong industrial base, textile and apparel capabilities and opportunities for businesses looking to expand manufacturing and sourcing operations.

Meanwhile, the Government of Maharashtra organised a session titled Maharashtra: An Attractive Global Destination for Technical Textiles in India. The session, attended by Sanjay Savkare, Minister of Textiles, Government of Maharashtra, showcased the state’s growing strength in technical textiles and its emergence as a preferred destination for technology-driven manufacturing and investment. Discussions also highlighted the increasing role of high-performance and specialised textiles in India’s industrial growth.
International trade and Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) featured prominently in the day’s agenda. The session Scaling Through Synergy: Building Local Capability to Power Global Textile Value Chains, organised by ITMF and ASSOCHAM, explored ways to strengthen domestic manufacturing capabilities and better integrate Indian enterprises into global textile value chains.
Another key discussion, India’s FTA Moment: Gateway for Textile Value Chains, Market Access and Sourcing Decisions, organised by Deloitte, examined how India’s evolving FTA landscape can create new opportunities for textile manufacturers, exporters and sourcing organisations by improving market access, strengthening value-chain integration and supporting informed sourcing decisions.

Leading Indian fashion designers Rahul Mishra and Vaishali Shadangule also participated in a session titled Global Ambitions: Redefining Retail Growth Beyond Borders, which explored the global potential of Indian fashion brands. In addition, NIFT hosted a fireside conversation on Building Global Fashion Enterprises from India: Innovation, Sustainability and Scale, focusing on the future of Indian fashion businesses.
Further strengthening the international trade agenda, Deloitte organised a ministerial discussion titled India-UK CETA in Action: Shaping the Future of Textile Trade and Investment. The session examined the opportunities emerging from the India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) and its potential to boost textile trade, investment and long-term business partnerships between the two countries.
Another notable session, Beyond China: Building Tariff-Safe, Compliant & Traceable Hemp Supply Chains for Global Markets, organised by Heartland Industries, highlighted the growing importance of diversified, compliant and traceable supply chains in enabling Indian businesses to strengthen their position in international markets.
The day also witnessed the CITI Textile Sustainability Awards 2026, recognising excellence in responsible business practices across seven categories: Resource Efficiency, Energy & Emissions, Circular Economy, Sustainable Materials, Social Responsibility, Responsible Business and Industry Collaboration.

Looking ahead to Day 3, Dr. Mohan Yadav, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, is scheduled to visit Bharat Tex 2026 to interact with exhibitors, encourage entrepreneurs and witness the state’s growing textile capabilities at the Madhya Pradesh Pavilion.
Through these engagements, Day 2 strengthened the crucial role of State Governments in building competitive textile ecosystems while strengthening India’s engagement with global markets. The discussions promoted investment, enhanced domestic capabilities and highlighted the growing opportunities arising from India’s expanding trade partnerships.
As Bharat Tex 2026 progresses, it continues to bring together the entire textile value chain from fibre to fashion, on a common platform, fostering collaboration among governments, industry leaders, manufacturers, exporters, buyers and international stakeholders. The strong focus on state-led initiatives and global trade on Day 2 reflected India’s commitment to building a globally connected, investment-ready and future-focused textile industry.
