Borana Weaves Commissions 108 Additional Looms

Borana Weaves Ltd., one of India’s leading producers of synthetic greige fabric, has commissioned 108 additional looms at its Unit 4, three months ahead of the proposed December schedule.
The new capacity, part of a Rs 71.35 crore capex funded through IPO proceeds, brings the total number of water jet looms at Unit 4 to 348 with an annual production capacity of 112.75 million metres. Currently, 300 looms are operational, while the remaining 48 are expected to commence production by October 2025.
With this addition, Borana Weaves’ overall annual production capacity will expand to 346 million metres, strengthening its market share in synthetic greige fabric from around 20–25% to nearly 25–30%. The eco-friendly, high-speed water jet weaving technology also reinforces the company’s focus on sustainable operations.
Commenting on the milestone, Rajkumar Borana, Executive Director and CFO, said, “The accelerated execution of Unit 4 reflects our commitment to respond swiftly to rising demand trends. Commissioning the unit ahead of schedule is a direct outcome of strong order inflows and robust demand visibility.”
The expansion is expected to improve operating margins through reduced outsourcing, scale efficiencies and enhanced ability to serve both domestic and international markets.
