Brandix India Apparel City Hosts High-Level Taiwan Delegation

A high-level delegation from Taiwan visited Brandix India Apparel City (BIAC) to explore collaboration opportunities in India’s textile and apparel sector. The delegation, led by Shelly Chein, Chairperson of the Taiwan Non-Woven Fabrics Industry Association (TNFIA), toured the sprawling 1,000-acre integrated apparel park and reviewed its infrastructure, sustainability initiatives and manufacturing capabilities.

During the visit, the team explored Brandix Apparel Unit 1, the country’s largest ladies’ underwear manufacturing facility and Teejay India, one of India’s biggest and most advanced fabric mills housed within BIAC.

The delegation also assessed BIAC’s robust environmental systems, including its state-of-the-art Water Treatment Plant, which processes 60 million litres of raw water daily, and the Effluent Treatment Plant, capable of treating 56 million litres of effluent per day in line with stringent environmental norms.

Impressed by the operations, TNFIA Chairperson Shelly Chein said, “We were truly impressed by the scale and sustainability standards at Brandix India Apparel City. The park illustrates how integrated ecosystems can enhance global competitiveness while upholding environmental responsibility. We look forward to exploring potential areas of collaboration.”

Rekha Rani, Commissioner of Handlooms and Textiles, joined the delegation and presented Andhra Pradesh’s expanding textile ecosystem, business-friendly policies, and growing opportunities for global investors. She noted that integrated textile parks like BIAC are central to the state’s vision of becoming a leading textile and apparel hub, generating large-scale employment and attracting top-tier manufacturers.

Speaking about the visit, General Udaya Perera, Country Head, Brandix India Apparel City, said, “We are delighted to host the delegation from Taiwan and showcase how BIAC brings together sustainability, innovation, and scale to support world-class apparel manufacturing.”

The visit highlighted increasing international interest in India’s integrated textile parks and the potential for deeper India–Taiwan collaboration in advanced textile technologies, non-wovens and sustainable manufacturing.
