Cambodian Garment Exports Drop 16.28% In May

Cambodian garment exports fell to US $644.51 million in May 2023, a drop of 16.28 percent against $769.51 million in the same month of 2022.

Among overall garment exports, overseas shipments of woven apparel and accessories in May 2023 witnessed a year on year decline of 12 percent to $183.83 million.

While, exports of knitted garments and accessories fell 17.8 percent from a year ago period, to $274.40 in the month under review

In the first five months of 2023, Cambodia’s import of crocheted and knitted fabric reached $1,080.57 million, a plunge of 23.5 percent as against imports in the January to May 2022 period.

However, imports of raw cotton and cotton yarn grew albeit slowly by 2 percent year on year to total to $228.127 million.
