Cambodia’s Apparel Exports Rise 23% To US$ 6.13 Billion In Jan–May 2025

Cambodia exported garments, textiles, footwear, and travel goods worth US$ 6.13 billion during the January–May 2025 period, marking a 23% increase from US$ 4.97 billion in the same period last year, according to a report released by the Ministry of Commerce.
Garment exports alone reached US$ 4.21 billion, rising 23% year-on-year. Textile exports grew 22% to US$ 245 million, while footwear exports surged 37% to US$ 842 million. Travel goods and bags also saw a 15% uptick, reaching US$ 836 million.
“The growth reflects Cambodia’s sound economic performance amidst global complexities and uncertainties,” said Sun Mesa, spokesperson for the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training.
The garment, textiles, footwear, and travel goods sector remains the country’s largest foreign exchange earner. It comprises around 1,538 factories and branches, employing approximately 913,000 workers, most of whom are women.
