Canada Goose Acquires Paola Confectii Manufacturing’s European Facility

Canada Goose has announced the acquisition of the operating assets of Paola Confectii Manufacturing, marking the company’s first European facility. This strategic move aligns with Canada Goose’s Strategic Growth Plan, aiming to expand existing categories and increase year-round relevance.

Paola Confectii, based in Romania, has been a trusted partner in manufacturing luxury knitwear for Canada Goose since 2017, producing best-selling styles like the HyBridge knit jacket. As knitwear emerges as a leading segment in Canada Goose’s apparel category, which achieved over $70 million in annual sales in fiscal 2023, this acquisition is expected to enhance product margins and supply control, deepening in-house product expertise.

Dani Reiss, Chairman and CEO of Canada Goose, emphasized the significance of the vertically integrated supply chain as a core competency. The investment in Paola Confectii advances Canada Goose’s manufacturing infrastructure and reaffirms its position as a performance luxury brand. Reiss expressed confidence in the company’s emerging categories and plans to develop them as significant contributors to the business.

While Canada Goose’s core down-filled products will continue to be proudly made in Canada, the acquisition allows for apparel production to be concentrated within best-in-class European facilities. This strategic evolution aligns with Canada Goose’s commitment to craftsmanship and excellence.

Paola Confectii will operate as a standalone entity, with Giannino Lessi continuing as General Manager and Paola Zaffalon as Technical Director. Regular operations will be maintained as Canada Goose deepens its partnership with a world-class manufacturing facility in Europe.
