Central Government Approves New Textile Project In Bihar
The central government has approved several initiatives to strengthen the textile industry in Bihar, as announced by State Industries Minister Nitish Mishra. The approval comes as part of ongoing efforts to enhance industrial development and create employment opportunities in the state.
Among the approved projects is the development of the silk industry in Bhagalpur district. This initiative aims to revitalize and expand the region’s traditional silk weaving sector. Additionally, the Union Ministry of Textiles has sanctioned projects under the Small Cluster Development Program for Tekari-Belaganj in Gaya and Meerachak in Bhagalpur. These projects are designed to support and improve small textile clusters in these areas.
The Cabinet has also given the green light to organize State Handloom Expos in Patna and Gaya. These expos will provide a platform for showcasing local handloom products and promoting growth in the sector.
Minister Mishra emphasized that these projects will boost investment in Bihar and increase employment opportunities. This development is expected to significantly advance the state’s textile industry.
