Chinese Home Textile Exports Soar Over Pre Pandemic Levels

In the period between January and November 2023, home textile exports from China reached US $30.09 billion, a slight drop of 0.2 percent over the same months of 2022.

“However, these home textile exports soared 17.3 percent over the same period of 2019, the months before the pandemic began,” data released by China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export said.

In the reporting period, exports of bedding products stood at $12.72 billion, a slight decline of 1.5 percent year over year, and blanket exports amounted to $4.08 billion, dropping by just 0.3 percent.

Curtain exports were $2.59 billion, a marginal fall of 1.6 percent, while carpet exports were $3.66 billion, up 4.6 percent and kitchen textile exports amounted to $2.67 billion, up 8.4 percent from a year ago period.

However, towel exports reported a major fall to $2.01 billion, a decrease of 7.8 year over year and tablecloth exports stood at $730 million, a rise of 3.8 percent.
