Chinese PSF Exports Down 13.8% Between January & February
In the first two months of 2024, Chinese exports of polyester staple fibre (PSF) totaled 167.2 kilo tons, down 13.8 percent over the comparable period of 2023.
Of these, PSF exports in January 2024 amounted to 97.27 kilo tons, a year on year decline of 7.2 percent, while in February, they stood at 69.9 kilo tons, dropping by 21.6 percent.
Among the top 10 exports markets, Vietnam was the largest with a volume of 33,236 tons between January and February, increasing by 31 percent over the same period of earlier year.
In the first two months of ongoing year, Pakistan came at second place with a volume of 17,839 tons, declining by 25.9 percent year over year, while those to the US fell 13.2 percent.
In the reporting months, exports to other countries like India, Turkey and Bangladesh witnessed the highest decline with those to India down 65.4 percent, Turkey 56.3 percent and Bangladesh 45.3 percent.
