CHT Group Advances Sustainability Efforts In 2025
CHT Group has strengthened the integration of sustainability into its business operations, according to its 2025 Sustainability Report, which highlights progress in climate action, transparency and social responsibility.
A major achievement during the year was the German Sustainability Award 2026 for the company’s Pigmentura dyeing process, recognised for combining resource efficiency with customer benefits.
The company also received an EcoVadis Gold rating with 81 points, placing it among the top 5% of companies in its sector worldwide. In addition, CHT was named a “Best Managed Company 2026”.
To enhance sustainability management, CHT aligned its reporting with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) and conducted climate and water risk assessments across all global sites.
The company expanded its use of renewable electricity at facilities in the UK, Brazil and Shanghai, while investing in a photovoltaic system at its Torreón site. Other initiatives included the use of biomass-based heating at its Dußlingen facility.
To improve supply chain transparency, CHT introduced automated Product Carbon Footprint calculations, enabling product-level emissions tracking and targeted reduction measures.
On the social front, more than 95% of employees worldwide now receive compensation above local living-wage levels. The company aims to achieve full living-wage coverage across its workforce by 2030.
CHT said the developments demonstrate how sustainability is becoming an increasingly measurable and strategic element of its long-term growth, innovation and competitiveness.
