Cone To Show Denim Fabrics Made From Circulose At Kingpins

Cone Denim will showcase its first denim fabrics collections made with regenerated cellulose fibres at Kingpins New York which will be held January 24-25 in New York.

“The pilot launch of these new styles underscores Cone Denim’s ongoing commitment to driving change toward a sustainable future in denim manufacturing,” the denim manufacturer said in a press release.

The collection uses Circulose, a new generation raw material derived from the recovery of cellulose found in worn clothing and transformed into a dissolving pulp made from 100 percent recycled textiles.

Cone Denim’s design and product development teams have collaborated to bring two new fabrics, Wonderwall and Eden, to market.

“In creating these products, we have challenged ourselves to develop fabrics that promote circularity in fashion with increased percentages of circular and recycled raw materials,” Pierette Scavuzzo, Director of Product Design at Cone Denim said.

“It was also essential in our design goals that these fabrics have extensive reach within a brand’s denim program to promote the scaling of this circular yarn innovation,” he added.

The first style, Wonderwall, is a mid-weight, rigid fabric containing an innovative blend of Recycled Claim Standard (RCS) certified pre-consumer recycled cotton, Tencel, and 29 percent of Circulose.

The second style, Eden, is Cone Denim’s complimentary product to Wonderwall made with 31 percent Circulose.

According to Cone Denim, this denim fabric combines the best of all worlds with the use of circular fibres, authentic texture, and stretch for added comfort.
