Cycora Material Validates Ambercycle’s Sustainability Mission
The European Centre for Innovative Textiles (CETI), a leading research centre in textiles located in France, has confirmed that the circular material Cycora is comparable to virgin materials and exceeds the quality standards of recycled materials.
Cycora, a groundbreaking regenerated material, meets the spinnability standards of virgin materials and surpasses other recycled materials, as stated by CETI. The centre, equipped with advanced melt spinning technology, conducted an independent assessment highlighting Cycora’s potential to revolutionize the fashion industry by providing a circular alternative without compromising product integrity and excellence.
Introduced in 2021 by Ambercycle, a pioneer in material science, Cycora utilizes end-of-life textiles as feedstock for new high-performance circular polyester. Unlike conventional recycled materials, which often face quality and application limitations, Cycora polyester maintains consistent quality while delivering optimal performance. This allows for the creation of durable products, reducing waste and extending the environmental benefits of Ambercycle’s innovative material.
As global demand for sustainable materials continues to grow, leading fashion brands have embraced Cycora yarns in their products, confirming its emergence as a frontrunner in circular materials. CETI’s recent assessment further validates this status.
“We were delighted to collaborate with Ambercycle to advance innovation and sustainability in the textile industry,” said Manisha Mariva, Recycling and Circular Economy Manager at CETI. “Our comprehensive testing demonstrated that Cycora material performs on par with virgin alternatives across various processes and stands out among recycled textiles for its performance and versatility. Cycora material is a significant contributor to the industry and is setting a new standard for recycled materials.”
The environmental benefits and high-performance standards of Cycora material reflect Ambercycle’s dedication to innovation, sustainability and the pursuit of true circularity in fashion.
“We believe that sustainability should never compromise quality. The recognition from CETI reaffirms our commitment to redefining industry norms and demonstrating that excellence and environmental responsibility can coexist seamlessly,” said Shay Sethi, CEO of Ambercycle.
