Dodhia Synthetics Goes Solar With 600kWp Rooftop Installation

Dodhia Synthetics, a prominent textile manufacturing company, has partnered with Orb Energy, one of India’s leading solar energy solution providers, to install a 600kWp rooftop solar system at its manufacturing facility. This strategic collaboration marks a major step in Dodhia’s sustainability journey, enabling both environmental and economic gains.

The solar system is expected to generate over 800,000 units of clean electricity annually, helping Dodhia offset more than 750 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year. In addition to its environmental impact, the installation is projected to yield significant cost savings over Rs 60 lakhs (approx. US$ 70,000) per year, with a payback period of just three years, making it a financially sound investment.

Damian Miller, Co-founder and CEO of Orb Energy.

“This project showcases the growing trend among Indian manufacturers to embrace clean energy for both sustainability and cost-efficiency,” said Damian Miller, Co-founder and CEO of Orb Energy. “At Orb, our mission is to deliver impactful solar solutions that empower businesses to act on their climate commitments while realizing tangible financial returns.”

S.S. Negi, Head of Electrical & Instrumentation at Dodhia Synthetics, shared his satisfaction with the initiative, stating, “One of the best things about working with Orb Energy is their excellent service. The system is generating nearly 3.7 units per kilowatt, and I am highly satisfied.”

Beyond the operational and financial benefits, the move bolsters Dodhia’s ESG credentials, enhancing its brand reputation among sustainability-focused clients and investors. The installation provides a reliable energy source, supporting uninterrupted manufacturing operations, a critical requirement in the textile sector.

With solar energy adoption rising across India’s industrial and commercial sectors, Dodhia Synthetics’ success story serves as a benchmark for companies looking to reduce emissions, improve energy security, and future-proof their operations.

Orb Energy, with over 350 MW of solar installations across India’s SME sector, continues to lead the charge toward a greener industrial landscape, with an ambitious goal of reaching 1 GW of installations by 2030.
