DyStar’s Gabus Plant Achieves ISO 14001 Environmental Certification

DyStar has secured ISO 14001 certification for its Gabus production facility, marking a significant step in the company’s sustainability and environmental management efforts.

The globally recognised standard for environmental management systems confirms that the Gabus plant has implemented robust practices for efficient resource use, waste reduction and compliance with environmental regulations. The certification was awarded following an independent audit conducted by Bureau Veritas.

“Securing ISO 14001 accreditation at our Gabus plant is another milestone in DyStar’s sustainability journey,” said Klaus Kadletz, Senior Vice President for South Asia, Southeast Asia and Turkey, Africa & Middle East. He noted that the recognition reflects the company’s commitment to minimising environmental impact while delivering value to customers, brands and stakeholders.

The certification supports DyStar’s two-fold sustainability strategy—reducing the environmental impact of its own operations while helping customers lower their environmental footprint. As one of the largest production sites in DyStar’s global network, the Gabus plant has contributed significantly to the group’s sustainability targets, which aim to cut environmental impact by 30% from 2011 levels across energy, emissions, water and waste.

According to Clement Yang, Vice President of Global Manufacturing at DyStar Group, the plant also achieved a 33% reduction in packaging intensity in FY2024 compared with the previous year, equivalent to more than 30 kilogrammes per tonne of production.
