EURATEX Elects Mario Machado As President; Alberto Paccanelli As Hon. President

During its General Assembly on June 14, Mario Jorge Machado was elected President of EURATEX, showcasing his extensive career in the textile sector. Machado, currently a shareholder and director at Adalberto Textile Solutions, S.A., brings a wealth of experience in boosting competitiveness and innovation through advanced management practices.

As President of the Textile and Clothing Association of Portugal (ATP) since 2019, Machado is recognized for his strategic leadership in promoting sustainability and innovation within the industry. He chairs CIP’s strategic council for environment and sustainability, representing ATP on the Board of CIP – Confederação Empresarial de Portugal.

With a background in production polymer engineering from the University of Minho, Machado emphasizes operational excellence and sustainable practices to drive the evolution of the textile industry.

Machado articulated his vision for EURATEX, advocating for a robust industrial strategy to enhance European industry growth rates and ensure fair global competition. He stressed the importance of aligning legislative efforts with industry capabilities to foster sustainability effectively.

The Assembly also appointed Alberto Paccanelli as Honorary President, recognizing his significant contributions to EURATEX and the European textile industry over the past decade.

Additionally, EURATEX elected Michael Kamm, Barbara Cimmino, Grégory Marchant and Ismail Kolunsag to its Presidency team, welcoming new memberships and partnerships to strengthen its influence in the textile sector.
