Fashion Institute Gives Makeover To Kerala Khadi Garments

The Kerala Khadi and Village Industries Board has joined hands with the Institute of Fashion Technology – Kerala (IFTK) to unveil a khadi based fashion collection to appeal to the youth.

Vice Chairman of the Kerala Khadi Board P Jayarajan said new designs in brilliant colours created by young people represent the evolving interests of the younger generation.

Khadi showrooms in the state have started stocking the trendy range of Khadi apparels

“Recently medical students, physicians, and nurses chose Khadi overcoats made by units under the board in various medical institutions and district hospitals throughout Kerala,” the Hindu reported.

The board had also had meeting with several social and religious organisations to further promote the usage of Khadi clothing.

A road map for the Board’s modernisation goals for the next ten years too has been drafted by a team from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras.

The Board recently unveiled a new logo and urged the public to buy khadi products from any of its 150 showrooms.
