H.B. Fuller Releases 2022 Sustainability Report

H.B. Fuller, a prominent global adhesives provider, has released its latest Sustainability Report, highlighting the company’s progress towards achieving its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) vision and targets for 2022. By 2025, H.B. Fuller aims to reduce energy and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions intensity by 20% and waste and water intensity by 10% compared to the base year of 2014. As of the end of 2022, the company has made steady progress towards its primary targets and is ahead of schedule in delivering its water withdrawal and waste metric targets, while also approaching its GHG goal.

H.B. Fuller President and CEO, Celeste Mastin, expressed pride in the company’s responsible operations recognized by leading organizations across its extensive global manufacturing network. She emphasized that their impact extends beyond their own operations, with over 50% of their new product pipeline dedicated to solutions that enable sustainability in their customers’ products.

Highlights from this year’s report include:

  • Strong performance that positions the company well to meet its 2025 sustainability goals.
  • First-time publication of Scope 3 GHG emissions and advancements in Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) related to product footprint and climate change.
  • Implementation of a new digital platform across more than 100 sites worldwide for real-time collection, analysis and reporting of sustainability data.
  • Launch of various technologies that enable sustainable customer innovations in electric vehicles, woodworking, technical textile, packaging, hygiene and energy-efficient buildings.
  • Introduction of the “Talent Up” programme for operations and enhancement of H.B. Fuller’s culture of diversity and inclusion through expanded Employee Network Groups and 44% female representation on the Board of Directors.
  • Donations of $1.3 million to communities and increased employee volunteerism, partnerships and corporate social responsibility programmes in 26 countries.

H.B. Fuller continues to align its disclosures with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) and follows industry-leading Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards and the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB).
