Haelixa Partners With OVS To Enhance Traceability Of Italian Cotton
Haelixa has renewed its partnership with Italian fashion brand OVS for the second consecutive year, aiming to mark and trace cotton grown in Italy to ensure trust throughout the supply chain.
Haelixa has integrated its DNA markers into OVS’s existing cotton operations. The cotton, sourced from Italian farms, is marked with DNA markers at the gin, located close to the fields. Throughout the manufacturing process, the fibres are tested to confirm that the cotton used in OVS collections is ethically and sustainably sourced. This collaboration highlights both companies’ commitment to promoting responsible and transparent practices in the fashion industry, providing customers with assurances regarding the origin of their cotton.
Patrick Strumpf, CEO of Haelixa, stated, “In tracing the journey of the Italian-grown cotton, we are supporting OVS in bringing full transparency to their supply chain.” He added, “The marking increases brand trust and enables OVS to make sustainable product claims.”

Simone Colombo, Head of Corporate Sustainability at OVS, remarked, “In 2024, we have continued our collaboration with Swiss DNA traceability supplier Haelixa to mark and trace our OVS Cotone Italiano for the second year. Our goal is to source 5% of our cotton requirements from Italian cultivation within a few years.”
