Heimtextil 2026 Expands Portfolio With Non-Textile Floor Coverings

Heimtextil is broadening its scope for the 2026 edition with the introduction of a new product area: Flooring & Equipment, dedicated to non-textile floor coverings. This new category complements the existing Carpets & Rugs segment, further solidifying Heimtextil’s position as the leading global trade fair for home and contract textiles. The addition of non-textile floor coverings opens up opportunities for new visitor target groups, while strengthening valuable industry connections.
What links non-textile floor coverings with a textile trade fair? The answer lies in creating a comprehensive buying experience for interior design. Starting in 2026, the Flooring & Equipment area will offer a range of non-textile floor coverings, including elastic floor coverings, designer and luxury vinyl tiles, cork, laminate, parquet, wooden flooring, and outdoor options. This new offering enhances Heimtextil’s position as the ultimate platform for the interior design sector, with a complete selection of high-quality products, trends and designs for both home and contract applications—from wallpaper and curtains to carpets and non-textile floor coverings.
“By continuously evolving with the industry, Heimtextil has become a global stage for inspiration and solutions across the entire interior design sector. The addition of non-textile floor coverings perfectly complements our existing product range and will attract new target groups, including specialized floor-covering retailers. The synergy between Flooring & Equipment and Carpets & Rugs ensures a seamless experience for the industry, creating opportunities for efficient networking and new contacts,” says Margit Herberth, Director of Heimtextil.
Flooring & Equipment will also serve the interests of Heimtextil’s existing target groups, including designers, decorators, architects, furnishers, DIY and home improvement stores, garden centres, wholesalers and retailers. Positioned adjacent to the Carpets & Rugs segment, the new area offers a strategic location within the exhibition space, enhancing product accessibility for visitors.
“The introduction of this product range fits seamlessly into Heimtextil 2026’s hall plan at Messe Frankfurt. We’ve optimized visitor routes to guide them efficiently between product segments,” adds Bettina Bär, Director of Heimtextil. A high-quality content programme will also be available for professionals in the global carpet and floor covering industry.
Heimtextil 2026 will take place from 13 to 16 January 2026, promising to be an exciting event for the entire interior design sector.
