Indian Cotton Yarn Exports Increase Explosively In September

India’s exports of cotton yarn in September 2023 totaled 103,100 tons by volume, growing by a massive 293.11 percent year over year, but declining 11.12 percent over its previous month.

In the same month, China dropped down to second position among exports of Indian cotton yarn, when it reached 24,328 tons, a leap of 1,836.13 percent, but fell 44.62 percent month on month.

Bangladesh accounted for 41 percent of export market share to become the biggest destination, wherein exports rose 15 percent month on month in September and an explosive 4,547 percent year on year.

China at second position accounted for 24 percent of the Indian cotton yarn export market, while Egypt was the third largest export market accounting for 5 percent of the market share.

From the data, it can be seen that cotton yarn exports to China in September showed a year-on-year increase but a month-on-month decrease.
