Indian Garment Exporter Texport Joins The Fashion Pact

Bengaluru based garment exporter Texport Industries has joined The Fashion Pact, which is a non-profit organisation of companies from the fashion industry that work together to help the environment.

The Fashion Pact is a global initiative of CEO’s in the textile, luxury and fashion industries all committed to a common core of key environmental goals in three areas.

These three initiatives include; stopping global warming, restoring biodiversity and protecting the oceans.

Launched as a mission given to Kering Chairman and CEO, François-Henri Pinault by French President, Emmanuel Macron, the Fashion Pact was presented to heads of state at a G7 Summit.

Texport Industries has joined this group as it wants to follow practices that are good for the earth and support the global effort to make the fashion industry more eco-friendly.

Texport Industries also said that it is committed to making its greenhouse gas emissions equal to zero by the year 2050.

The company will reduce the amount of carbon they produce, like using more renewable energy and using technologies that save energy.

The company will also make sure that they use water in a responsible manner and doesn’t harm the environment, while also stop use of dangerous chemicals.

“We are thrilled to join The Fashion Pact and work together with other industry leaders to address the pressing environmental challenges facing our industry,” Shailesh Goenka, Director at Texport Industries said

“We look forward to leveraging the collective expertise and resources of The Fashion Pact to drive meaningful change and contribute to a more sustainable future,” Goenka added.

Texport Industries manufactures and exports woven and knitted apparels as well as knitted fabrics. The company has manufacturing operations in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
