Indo Rama Q2 Profit Triples To Rs 74 Crore; Plans Rs 200-Crore Investment

Indo Rama Synthetics (India) Ltd reported a 201.8% year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit to ₹74.1 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, supported by higher income and improved operating margins. The polyester manufacturer also announced plans to invest approximately ₹200 crore in speciality fibre and filament products over the next 12–18 months.

Consolidated total income increased 10% to ₹1,344 crore in Q2 FY27 from ₹1,222.4 crore a year earlier. EBITDA rose 46.4% to ₹117.7 crore, while the EBITDA margin expanded to 8.8% from 6.6%. Net profit margin improved to 5.5% from 2%.

On a sequential basis, total income grew 43% and net profit increased 16.2%. However, the EBITDA margin moderated from 11.5% in the preceding quarter.

For the first half of FY27, consolidated net profit rose 78.3% to ₹137.8 crore, while EBITDA increased 24.9% to ₹225.7 crore. Total income declined 9.7% to ₹2,284.2 crore, which the company attributed to supply chain disruptions arising from geopolitical developments in the Middle East.

Om Prakash Lohia, Chairman and Managing Director, said the company delivered a strong second-quarter performance despite a challenging operating environment. Geopolitical developments in the Middle East pushed up crude oil prices, raising raw material costs and sustaining volatility across the polyester value chain, he said.

Outlining the investment plan, Lohia said, “As part of our growth strategy, we plan to invest approximately ₹200 crore over the next 12–18 months to diversify in specialty fibre and filament products.”

The proposed investment is expected to broaden the company’s product portfolio, increase its presence in value-added segments and support medium-term growth.

Indo Rama operates an integrated manufacturing facility at Butibori, Nagpur, with a portfolio spanning polyester staple fibre, filament yarn, draw-textured yarn, polyester chips and bottle-grade PET resin. The company serves customers across 19 Indian states and Union Territories and 28 countries.
