Indorama Shows PET Recycling Solutions At Sustainability Expo
Indorama Ventures sponsored and participated in the Sustainability Expo 2023 (SX2023) held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, Bangkok
Under the theme of ‘The Future of Recycling’, Indorama Ventures’ highlighted the latest sustainable solutions that are poised to revolutionise PET recycling.
“The company’s commitment includes investments in advanced recycling, bio-based feedstocks, and partnerships with sustainable start-ups,” the Aloke Lohia led company said in a press release.
The Indorama Ventures stall was also visited by the Prime Minister of Thailand, Srettha Thavisin along with other cabinet members.
These collaborations include innovation in enzymatic recycling with Carbios, introducing biotransformation technology with Polymateria, and exploring the production of bio-PTA and bio-PET.
The company’s booth display demonstrated the versatility and circularity of PET as a sustainable packaging material.
“Indorama Ventures has always been at the forefront of PET recycling, having recently celebrated our milestone of recycling 100 billion post-consumer PET bottles,” Anthony Watanabe, Chief Sustainability Officer said.
“Now, we are striving to enhance our recycling capabilities and become a future-ready organisation through more innovative and sustainable technologies and materials,” he added.
Apart from the exhibition booth, Indorama Ventures also participated in Sustainability Expo 2023’s panel discussion on ‘Business Leadership in Sustainability’ and is leading a recycling education workshop in the SX Kids Zone.
