Indorama Ventures Showcases Low-Carbon PET For Tire Reinforcement

Indorama Ventures will outline its roadmap for lower-carbon PET solutions for tire reinforcement at the upcoming Tire Technology Conference, scheduled for March 3–5 in Hannover, Germany.

Thomas Buss, Global R&D Lead for Sustainable Filament Yarns at Indorama Ventures, will present the company’s progress in developing PET materials that deliver virgin-like performance for safety-critical tire applications while significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

The portfolio includes bio-based and recycled PET solutions designed for tire cord fabrics and other reinforcement materials. According to the company, its bio-based reinforcement PET offers a substantially lower carbon footprint without compromising physical, mechanical or processing performance, enabling seamless drop-in integration for manufacturers.

Indorama Ventures highlighted that its fully integrated and third-party certified supply chain ensures traceability, credibility and reliable supply across product lines.

“Indorama Ventures remains open to diverse technologies, selecting only those that meet our technical and sustainability criteria,” said Thomas Buss. “That’s why, in addition to our biobased solutions, we are also using multiple recycling technologies to advance our offerings to the market. Our new joint venture with Jiaren Chemical Recycling, for example, enables us to finally close the textile loop at scale.”

The company is also expanding its sustainable portfolio through yarns and fabrics made from pre- and post-consumer textile feedstock, reinforcing its commitment to circular solutions in tire reinforcement materials.

Buss will deliver the presentation on March 3 at 13:45 CET in Room Casablanca at Deutsche Messe, Hannover.
