ITAMMA To Host 29th Product & Catalogue Show In Bhilwara On Jan 31

The Indian Textile Accessories & Machinery Manufacturers’ Association (ITAMMA) will host its 29th Product-cum-Catalogue Show at the Ranbanka Heritage Resort in Bhilwara on January 31, 2026. The event will begin at 2 p.m. and will be followed by a networking dinner.

This year’s edition is clubbed with an Academia Connect – Technology Networking Mission and a business meet focused on technical textiles, positioning Bhilwara as an emerging hub for innovation and industry–academia collaboration.

Globally, the textile machinery market was valued at US$ 27.8 billion in 2022 and is projected to grow to US$ 42.2 billion by 2030. India plays a significant role in this landscape with nearly 3,000 machinery manufacturing units and a market size expected to reach US$ 2.02 billion by 2033. Despite strong capacity utilisation of 94 per cent, the Indian textile engineering industry presently meets only 60 per cent of domestic requirements estimated at Rs 25,000 crore. India exports textile machinery worth around Rs 6,000 crore but imports approximately Rs 15,200 crore worth of machines and accessories, making import substitution and technological advancement critical. The sector has targeted a turnover of Rs 25,000 crore by 2025.

India’s long-term textile vision aims for the country to become a global powerhouse by 2047, achieving US$ 600 billion in textile exports, US$ 1.8 trillion in domestic market value, and US$ 309 billion in the technical textiles segment. A key driver of this ambition is the rapid shift toward man-made fibres (MMFs). With global MMF dominance at 75 per cent of all textiles in 2021/22, the future of India’s textile value chain increasingly depends on MMF growth. To remain competitive and achieve scale, India must expand its MMF business in the next two to four years to US$ 150 billion domestically and US$ 100 billion in exports. MMFs are no longer mere substitutes for cotton but form the backbone of emerging textile applications where performance, sustainability and innovation are essential.

The current textile era is shaped by fast-paced technological developments, where digitalization and artificial intelligence enable end-to-end traceability from fibre to garment to retail. This integrates manufacturers, processors, machine builders and fashion brands into a more collaborative ecosystem responsive to global market requirements. At the same time, the garment manufacturing segment provides India with a unique socio-economic advantage, creating employment for nearly 50 individuals per crore of investment, compared to just eight individuals generated across spinning, weaving and processing combined. For India to achieve its textile vision by 2047, experts argue that growth must be garment-led, driving employment, global branding and downstream value capture.

As MMF processing involves higher abrasion and complex handling, the demand for hi-tech machinery, quality spares and accessories will continue to rise. Machines capable of mass production with consistent quality at competitive prices, supported by durable accessories, will be essential for Indian mills to remain globally competitive.

In this context, the upcoming Bhilwara event will provide a common platform for user industry representatives, mill owners, technicians and industrial stakeholders to explore partnerships, understand technological developments and identify future-ready solutions. With more than 60 exhibitors and over 500 expected visitors, the show will facilitate buyer–seller interactions, knowledge exchange and collaborative opportunities. Exhibitors will also gain insights into customer requirements and future investment plans, helping them align manufacturing strategies accordingly.

The event is supported by the Mewar Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Sangam University, MLV Textile & Engineering College and TEAM (Thriving Engineers Alumni of MLVTEC). MoUs will be signed with multiple institutions to strengthen academia–industry linkages.

A special session on the B. K. Mehta Technology Networking Mission will connect academia, industry experts, stakeholders and government bodies, focused on the theme Mind-to-Production-to-Market for projects of students from more than ten textile universities and institutes across India. Another key highlight will be a dedicated session on Technical Textiles Turnkey Projects to promote the development of technical textiles in the Bhilwara region.

Inviting stakeholders across the ecosystem, Omprakash Mantry, President of ITAMMA (2025–27) and Director of Century Inks Pvt. Ltd., expressed confidence that the event will benefit manufacturers, dealers, traders, textile mill owners, technical staff, educational institutions, journalists and all those connected to textiles, technical textiles and textile engineering by enhancing their knowledge and helping them meet their business requirements.
