Itema Partners With Ivy Decarb To Accelerate Decarbonisation In Weaving Process

Itema has announced a strategic partnership with Ivy Decarb, a digital platform that enables textile companies to measure, compare and reduce their carbon footprint, marking a significant step toward decarbonising the weaving process.

As one of the first textile machinery manufacturers to join the Ivy Decarb ecosystem, Itema is positioning itself at the forefront of the industry’s transition toward lower environmental impact. The textile sector is facing mounting pressure to meet increasingly stringent decarbonisation targets, and the Ivy Decarb Marketplace aims to support this shift by bringing together stakeholders across the entire textile value chain.

The Ivy Decarb platform allows textile manufacturers to transparently compare machinery based on key sustainability metrics, including energy consumption, emissions and overall carbon footprint. In addition to facilitating informed equipment selection, the platform also supports access to green financing through partnerships with local banks.

Commenting on the partnership, Matteo Mutti, Chief Sales & Service Officer of Itema Group, said: “Sustainability has always been a priority for Itema, and we are delighted to join Ivy Decarb. Together with Ivy Decarb and the other project partners, we are defining evaluation criteria for what has become a fundamental aspect of textile machinery today. We are confident that our weaving machines, already among the most sustainable in the industry, will gain even greater recognition through this marketplace.”

The Ivy Decarb platform has been developed to support the textile industry’s sustainable transformation and contribute to the broader goal of achieving net-zero impact. By connecting machinery manufacturers, textile producers, financial institutions and global brands, the initiative seeks to foster collaboration and enable measurable progress toward more environmentally responsible textile production.
