ITMA ASIA+CITME 2024 Draws 90,000 Visitors With Strong Local Footfall
The 2024 ITMA ASIA+CITME textile machinery exhibition concluded on 18 October in Shanghai, successfully drawing about 90,000 visitors from 111 countries. With a strong local turnout—87% of visitors were from China—attendees represented 31 provinces, showcasing the robust demand for advanced textile technology across key regions such as Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Guangdong.
India led international visitors, followed by South Korea, Bangladesh, Indonesia and Iran, reflecting the global significance of the event. According to organizers CEMATEX, CCPIT TEX, CTMA and CIEC, exhibitors expressed high satisfaction with the show’s outcomes. Federico Businaro from Sperotto Rimar emphasized ITMA ASIA+CITME’s importance for accessing the Chinese market, while Baldwin Technology’s Rick Stanford noted the high quality of visitor engagement. Tan Jingdan of Changshu Guosheng Knitting Machinery Factory reported significant orders for high-end, fully computerized machines on the first day, affirming the industry’s shift toward intelligent solutions.
Spanning six halls and covering 160,000 square metres, ITMA ASIA+CITME 2024 featured over 1,700 leading manufacturers from 22 nations. The exhibition underscored quality and innovation as crucial for thriving in a competitive landscape, a sentiment echoed by Stephan Kehry of Erhardt+Leimer.
