120 Exhibitors From 11 Countries Participating At ITME Africa
India ITME Society will host a textile engineering exhibition – ITME Africa 2023 for the first time in Nairobi, Kenya from November 30 to December 2, 2023
There are a total of 120 exhibitors from 11 countries, which includes India with 60 companies, China with 25 exhibitors and Italy with 13 companies.
The exhibition will be inaugurated by Ms Namgya Khampa, High Commissioner of India in Kenya and Dr Juma Mukhwana – Principal Secretary, State Department for Industrialisation, Ministry of Trade and Industry, Kenya.
Visitors are expected from various countries of Africa including Kenya who seek to modernise their textile mills through the ITME Africa 2023 platform. As of date, visitors have registered from 36 countries from the Middle East, Africa and South East Asia.
The biggest delegation of 153 will be from India and will include highly placed officials of textile mills like
Reliance Industries, Vardhman Polytex, Sutlej Textiles, Batik House, Colourinn Industries, Ambica Jute Mills, Harikrushna Textiles, Indokem Ltd and Kohinoor Exports.
Delegations will also visit from Ethiopia, Germany, Bangladesh, Austria, Tanzania & South Africa respectively.
To facilitate interaction among all delegates the organiser, India ITME Society has curated multiple interactive sessions at the event.
Financial solutions for investments, JV’s and capital goods sourcing from India, will be explained by Exim Bank of India & Bank of Baroda, at a special session on November 30, immediately after the opening of the exhibition.
Technical seminars on textiles technology and cotton will also organised which will be beneficial for researchers and students.
A technical presentation will be made on ‘Cotton: Good practices of cultivating quality cotton fibre | Importance of physical properties of cotton in textile industry’.
This presentation will be made by Dr. Asha Rani, Secretary cum Chief Cotton Breeder- SIMA CDRA on December 1, 2023 at Lenana Hall, KICC at 10 AM.
Other esteemed speakers at these technical sessions from India include Ramanadane, CEO Global Operations, LMW and Hitesh Wadher, Vice President (International Business & B2B) at Neochem Technologies.
Others include Arun Varshney, VP & Business Head – Textiles at ColorJet India, Updeep Singh, Textile expert and industry leader and Rajeev Johari, CEO at Lux Industries Ltd.
They will also include Naveen Joon, Resident Representative East Africa, Exim Bank India and Vinay Kumar Rathi, Bank of Baroda.
Eminent speakers who will present on rising potential of the Kenyan textile Industry are Richard Cheruiyot, Board Chairman, Export Processing Zones Authority (EPZA) and Jas Bedi, Chairperson, Kenya Export Promotion & Branding Agency.
Others include Prof. Thomas Kipkurgat, MD, Rivatex East Africa Limited and Benjamin Chesang, Manager, Research, Planning and Innovation- Export Processing Zones Authority (EPZA).
There will also be Richard Davies, Deputy Director, Gatsby Africa, and also a presentation on behalf of the Italian Textile Engineering Expertise will be presented by Roberto Cortinovis, ASM Business Unit Warp Preparation at Karl Mayer Rotal S.r.l.
Supporting organisations from Africa and other countries are Botswana Textile & Clothing Association (BTCA), Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), Indo Polish Chamber of Commerce & Industries (IPCCI), and Textile Machine & Accessory Industrialists Association (TEMSAD) from Turkey.
