Jan-July Apparel Exports From Vietnam Drop 15.9%

In the first seven months of 2023, apparel exports from Vietnam dropped 15.9 percent, compared to the same period in 2022, to US $22.5 billion.

In the months between January to July 2023, clothing exports fell 24 percent to the US, 10 percent to the EU, by another 10 percent to China and also by 7.7 percent to South Korea, all from a year ago period.

“In July 2023 alone, garment shipments slipped to $3.81 billion, down 9.4 percent as against the same month of 2022. However, they increased 6.2 percent month on month.

Again in July, exports slumped by 17 percent to the US, by 10 percent to the EU and 9.58 percent to South Korea as against July 2022.
