January To July Chinese Textile & Apparel Exports Slip 10%
In the period between January and July 2023, overseas shipments of Chinese textile and apparel exports totaled $170 billion, which is down 10 percent year on year.
In the reporting period, garment exports touched $90.94 billion, a fall of 8.3 percent from the first seven months of 2022, while textiles shipments reached $78.85 billion or a decrease of 11.9 percent.
Data released by the General Administration of Customs said that in the month of July 2023, overall textile and garment shipments stood at $27.11, down 18.3 percent compared to July 2022.
Of this, apparel shipments reached $15.96 billion in July 2023 or a decline of 18.7 percent from a year ago month and textile exports touched $11.15 billion, down 17.8 percent.
