Jeanologia Showing Innovative Washing Technology At Kingpins

Spanish manufacturer of sustainable textile machines Jeanologia will show technologies which replace air with water while enabling authentic vintage looks and guaranteeing zero pollution at Kingpins Amsterdam.

Jeanologia will show its innovative atmospheric washing process, Atmos, which allows to achieve a natural aging of garments, with a genuine vintage effect, without the use of water, pumice stones, or chemicals.

“With the Atmos process, ozone is used under atmospheric conditions instead of water and chemicals, which is innovative and revolutionary in the textile industry,” the company said in a press release.

The result is a denim garment with an authentic vintage look and an impressive contrast between light and dark areas, without the need to use pumice stones and without potassium permanganate.

The innovative Atmos finishing process can also be applied in colour treatment like sweatshirts and t-shirts.

“This eco washing solution based on ozone technology reduces water use by up to 96 percent and eliminates all toxic byproducts and reduces energy consumption by up to 25 percent,” the company added.

Jeanologia stated that air, digitalisation and automation are the keys to a fully sustainable and efficient textile industry.

“We are fostering a new era in which air is the protagonist, replacing traditional use of water, which enables authentic vintage looks while guaranteeing zero pollution,” Marketing Director Carmen Silla, said.

Jeanologia exports its products and services to 72 countries on five continents and claims that upwards of 35 percent of the five billion jeans produced each year worldwide are made with its technologies.
