Karl Mayer Eyes Egypt’s Textile Expansion

VDMA-led delegation to showcase technology, after-sales support and training solutions

In a push to expand cooperation with Egyptian textile producers, 18 leading German textile machinery companies, including Karl Mayer, will participate in a business delegation to Cairo and Alexandria later this month.

The trip, scheduled for September 22 in Cairo and September 24 in Alexandria, will feature industry symposia, B2B networking sessions, and factory visits. It is being coordinated by consultancy firm Systems for Business Solutions and the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce, with support from VDMA, the German machinery association.

Karl Mayer, a global leader in warp knitting and preparation equipment, said it would use the visit to highlight its comprehensive solutions, from machinery to after-sales support, training and customer development.

“Egypt offers a strong growth opportunity as global textile players, particularly from China and Turkey, shift production to the country,” said Adam Stevenson, sales representative at Karl Mayer. “We see rising demand and an atmosphere of optimism in the Egyptian textile sector.”
