KARL MAYER Launches Extra-Wide HKS 3-M EL For High-Productivity Sports Textiles
KARL MAYER has launched a new extra-wide version of its HKS 3-M EL high-speed tricot machine, designed to deliver high productivity in the manufacture of sports, activewear and other textile applications.

The new HKS 3-M EL offers a working width of 330 inches, expandable by a further 10 inches, while achieving production speeds of up to 2,800 min⁻¹. According to KARL MAYER, the combination of the XXL working width and high operating speed makes the machine one of the most productive solutions in its configuration, particularly for the production of modern sporting goods.

The three-bar tricot machine combines its wide working width and high speed with energy-efficient technologies, automation solutions and low maintenance requirements. Its flexibility is another key feature, allowing manufacturers to produce a broad range of textile constructions and respond quickly to changing market requirements.
The HKS 3-M EL is capable of producing fabrics with diverse designs and high stitch densities, making it suitable for applications across fashion and apparel, home textiles and technical textiles. The machine is particularly targeted at sportswear, activewear and athleisure applications.
It can also be used for producing soft and warm outdoor textiles, including fluffy, napped and brushed fleece fabrics commonly used in softshell products. Its patterning capabilities also support the use of sustainable yarns, giving manufacturers greater scope to develop new fabric constructions and products.
The machine’s flexible patterning options are supported by the EL pattern drive, which controls the guide bars and enables precise patterning as well as faster pattern changes. KARL MAYER said these features can help manufacturers shorten development cycles and respond more quickly to changing textile and fashion trends.
The HKS 3-M EL is available in E 28 and E 32 gauges and can be equipped with four different batching devices to meet different production requirements. Its Multi-Speed feature provides additional flexibility by allowing manufacturers to adjust machine operation according to the fabric being produced.
