LYCRA Names New COO And EVP To Boost Innovation

The LYCRA Company, a global leader in fibre and technology solutions for apparel and personal care, has announced two key leadership appointments to accelerate innovation and growth.
Robert Johnston has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer, while Doug Kelliher has joined as Executive Vice President, Product. Both executives report directly to CEO Gary Smith and will play central roles in strengthening the company’s innovation pipeline.
A 35-year veteran of the LYCRA Company, Johnston will expand his responsibilities to include product development, in addition to leading global manufacturing operations and IT. In his new role, he will oversee R&D talent, lab resources, and pilot production to advance innovation across the company’s portfolio.
“I’m honoured to take on the role of COO and help shape the future of our innovation pipeline,” said Johnston.
Kelliher, with over 30 years of leadership experience at Timberland, Velcro Companies, Polartec, and Milliken & Company, will lead the product management team. His focus will be on delivering differentiated solutions across fibres, fabrics and garments to meet evolving consumer demands.
