Maersk Opens Largest Middle East Logistics Park At Jeddah Port

A.P. Moller – Maersk and Saudi Arabia’s General Ports Authority, Mawani, have inaugurated the largest logistics park for Maersk in the Middle East, located at Jeddah Islamic Port. The ceremony was attended by notable figures including Engineer Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, Omar bin Talal Hariri, Chairman of Mawani, and Vincent Clerc, CEO of A.P. Moller – Maersk.

The new Maersk Logistics Park spans 225,000 square meters and offers a range of integrated logistics solutions, including multi-modal connectivity, temperature-controlled warehousing, and customs-clearance facilities. Designed to support industries such as FMCG, automotive, and pharmaceuticals, the park will enhance trade efficiency and support Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals.

The park is a cornerstone of Maersk’s commitment to sustainability, featuring solar panels that will supply up to 70% of its electricity, electric equipment, and low-energy LED lighting. It also includes a women’s academy aimed at fostering diversity in the logistics sector.

Vincent Clerc highlighted the park as a milestone in Maersk’s strategy to facilitate global trade and advance its decarbonisation efforts. Ahmed Kadous of Unilever praised the park’s role in reducing CO2 emissions and supporting local talent.

The facility’s strategic location at Jeddah Islamic Port enhances its operational performance, supporting Saudi Arabia’s growing maritime connectivity and global trade ambitions.
