Mango Partners With TextileGenesis To Strengthen Fibre Traceability

Barcelona-based fashion retailer Mango has expanded its sustainability commitments by partnering with TextileGenesis, a leading traceability platform for the textile and fashion industry. The collaboration will enable Mango to track natural, synthetic and cellulosic fibres, along with leather, throughout the entire production process, ensuring a transparent and digitised supply chain.

TextileGenesis, founded in 2018 and acquired by Lectra in 2022, uses a fibre-forward digital traceability approach that verifies the origin and authenticity of materials at every stage. “Global supply chains are complex, and achieving full transparency is a major challenge,” said TextileGenesis CEO Amit Gautam. “Our platform provides verifiable and detailed production information, helping brands like Mango meet their sustainability goals.”

Mango began piloting the system in 2023. Since then, the partnership has helped the company digitally trace more than 6,000 tonnes of sustainable fibres and 40 million finished garments, engaging over 1,000 supply chain partners across 23 countries.

The collaboration also aligns with Mango’s focus on circularity and comes amid increasing regulatory demands and consumer expectations for ethical and sustainable practices.

Founded in 1984, Mango operates in more than 120 markets with a network of over 2,800 stores. The company reported €1.728 billion in turnover in the first half of the current fiscal year, up 12% year-on-year. Mango aims to reach €4 billion in revenue and add 500 new stores globally by 2026.
