MAS Holdings Expands In India With New Apparel Facility In Odisha

MAS Holdings, South Asia’s largest apparel manufacturer, has broken ground for its first facility in Odisha, India, marking a key milestone in its global expansion. This move strengthens MAS’ regional production capabilities and enhances its access to India’s fast-growing retail market.
The new facility is set to begin apparel production in 2026, focusing on value-added products for both domestic and international markets. Leveraging India’s manufacturing potential, the expansion complements MAS’ established operational excellence in Sri Lanka while creating new business opportunities and regional partnerships.
MAS India CEO Malik Ahamadeen stated, “MAS is excited to take this step in building a strong apparel ecosystem in the region, drawing from our expertise in managing holistic apparel industrial zones in Sri Lanka.”
Group CEO Suren Fernando added, “India has been integral to our operations for 25 years. This investment capitalizes on India’s vast manufacturing potential, benefiting both the global supply chain and the growing domestic retail sector.”
Over the next decade, MAS plans to develop the 60-acre site into a fully integrated apparel hub in collaboration with key partners.
