Mistra-Autex Orders Complete Needlepunch Line From Andritz

Mistra-Autex AS has placed an order with international technology group Andritz for a complete needlepunch line at its Raasiku plant in Estonia. The new line will produce a wide range of nonwovens for surface applications, 3D molding and technical materials, primarily serving the automotive industry. Commencement of production is scheduled for Q3 2026.

The scope of supply covers the entire process, from carding to end-of-line equipment, and includes the patented Andritz ProWin web optimization system in a closed-loop configuration. This technology ensures superior fibre distribution, enabling consistent end-product quality.

With this investment, Mistra-Autex expects productivity to increase more than five-fold, while reinforcing its commitment to innovation and advanced manufacturing.

Priit Tamm, Owner of Mistra-Autex, said, “We trust Andritz to renew our needlepunch equipment and value its expertise throughout this important project. As we share the same strong culture of innovation, we are confident that this will be the beginning of a successful long-term collaboration.”

Mark Raja, R&D Director at Mistra-Autex added, “Andritz’s technology ensures excellent product quality, while increasing line speed and reducing operational costs. The ProWin system reduces fibre deposits at the web edges and optimizes the CV ratio, resulting in up to 10% fibre savings, higher production speeds and faster ROI.”

The value of the order remains undisclosed but has been booked in Andritz’s order intake for Q1 2025.

Founded in 1986, Mistra-Autex is a leading European supplier of high-quality nonwoven and tufted carpet products for the automotive sector. The company combines design, engineering and production expertise to serve passenger cars, trucks and heavy-duty industrial vehicles.
